Install the Open Dental Agent
Connect your Open Dental practice management system to Dental Document for real-time analytics, AI insights, and automated reporting.
System Requirements
Guided setup required. This installer should be run during a scheduled onboarding session with a Dental Document team member. You will need your Practice ID and Open Dental Customer Key during installation.
Installation Steps
Download the installer
Click the download button above. Your browser may warn about the .exe file. Click "Keep" to proceed.
Run as Administrator
Right-click the downloaded file and select "Run as administrator." The setup wizard will guide you through configuration.
Enter your credentials
You'll need your Practice ID and Open Dental Customer Key. The wizard handles all other configuration automatically, including database user setup.
Verify the service
After installation, open Windows Services (services.msc) and confirm "DentalDocumentAgent" shows status Running.
Data sync begins
The agent will start syncing practice data in the background. Initial sync typically completes within a few minutes. You'll see data appear in your Dental Document dashboard.
